The great challenges and challenges of conflict theory in the 21st Century

A chronological review of the sociological theories of conflict is necessary in order to better understand
their essence, the different factors that determine their evolution and the resistances that are presented
in the approach to social conflict. To look at the connection between social conflict and modern thought,
reviewing the social theory of conflict from the ideology of Mills, moving towards research for peace,
addressing the concept of imperfect peace, and then address peace education as a tool for creating and
generating a culture of peace. In this review, we will also review the connection that exists between
violence and environmental problems, in order to finally contemplate a series of challenges to the
approach to conflict theory in the decade of the 21st century.
