This paper exposes the relationship between the philosophical tradition of self-care from different spiritual exercises that lead to self-improvement and the perception that some mediators have of some current practices that allow their self-care. By making this link, it was possible to corroborate the empirical existence of some theoretical elements of self-care and the importance of promoting the internalization of the acts that comprise it. For this task, various theories were reviewed, as well as in-depth interviews were applied to a representative sample with the aim of interpreting them from the philosophical tradition.
