Abstract

Higher Education Institutions (IES) are constituted as a fundamental element for the consolidation of a culture of peace, therefore, it is of the utmost importance that they come together to integrate a transversal model in favor of promoting education for peace from action and with this generate real strategies for the formation of its graduates as integral human beings that act as agents of social change and peace, to generate the necessary structural changes for the peaceful, harmonious and sustainable development of the societies of the 21st century.

Currently, strategies that have been carried out by some higher education institutions in the country are recognized, where peace has been one of the most relevant issues in the last decade, however they have been viewed as isolated strategies without inter-institutional generalization. The opinion issued below stems from a study consisting of several phases of research carried out by the Eirene Estudios de Paz y Conflictos group based at the Autonomous University of Nuevo León, Mexico.
